Federal NAICS Size Standards On the Rise (Again!)

Back in June, we shared the exciting news that many of the marketing communications NAICS codes size standards were increased. This was most notably for 541810 (Advertising Agencies) going from $16M to $22.5M. 

In light of the unusual inflation occurring, the SBA has decided to make further adjustments to size standards. Here's the high-level break down of five of our industry specific NAICS codes and the impact that takes effect as of December 19, 2022: 

  • 541810, Advertising Agencies increased to $25.5M

  • 541830, Media Buying Agencies increased to $32.5M

  • 541430, Graphic Design Services remained at $9M

  • 541613, Marketing Consulting Services remained at $19M

  • 541820, Public Relations Agencies remained at $19M

Other NAICS codes that might be of interest and are commonly used: 

  • 541611, Administrative Management and General Management Consulting Services increased to $24.5M

  • 541910, Marketing Research and Public Opinion Polling increased to $22.5M

  • 541612, Human Resources Consulting Services increased to $29M

  • 541990, All Other Professional Scientific and Technical Services increased to $19.5M 

It has impact for all businesses regardless of size, 

  • For small businesses, it allows a longer run way to remain small. 

  • For midsize businesses, this might result in you being a small business again (making you to be eligible to compete as a SB)

  • For large businesses, this may change your anticipated competitive sets as well as your small business contracting plans.
